How to calculate m² ?
RULES TO CALCULATE THE NUMBER OF M².
TOTAL SURFACE AREA = BOTTOM SURFACE AREA + WALL SURFACE AREA..
1 RECTANGULAR SHAPE WITH FLAT BOTTOM
Bottom surface area = length x width.
Wall surface area = perimeter x wall height.
Example:
10 x 5 pool with 1.50 m straight wall
Bottom surface area = 10 x 5 = 50 m².
Wall surface area = (10 + 5) x 2 x 1.50 = 45 m².
Total surface area = 50 + 45 = 95 m².
2 RECTANGULAR SHAPE - CONSTANT SLOPE MULTIPLE SEGMENT SLOPE
Bottom surface area = length x width.
Wall surface area = perimeter x average height. (except mosaic
for multiple segment slopes, total big pool height)
Example:
10 x 5 pool with 1.20 m straight wall
Bottom surface area = 10 x 5 x 1.30 = 65 m².
Wall surface area =(10 + 5) x 2 x 1.20 = 36 m².
Total surface area = 65 + 36 = 101 m².
N.B : 1.30 is an empirical coefficient used to take into account the
expansion of the pool bottom.
3 RECTANGULAR - HOPPER WITH OR WITHOUT SAFETY LEDGE (CONSTANT WALLS)
Bottom surface area = width x length x 1.30 (use 1.15 if the
difference between the height of the small pool and the big pool
is less than 40 cm).
Wall surface area = perimeter x height of the straight wall.
Example:
10 x 5 pool with
big pool depth 1.80 m, small pool 1.00 m.
Bottom surface area = 10 x 5 = 50 m²
Wall surface area = [(10 + 5) x 2] x [(1.80 + 1,00)/2] = 42
Total surface area: 50 + 42 = 92 m².
4 ROUND FLAT BOTTOM LINER
Bottom surface area = the diameter of the circle itself.
(square in which the circle is drawn).
Wall surface area = (3.14 x diameter) x wall height.
Example:
• 6 m diameter pool with 1.20 m straight wall
Bottom surface area = 6 x 6 = 36 m².
Wall surface area =(3.14 x 6) x 1.20 = 22.60 m².
Total surface area = 22.60 + 36 = 58.60 m².
5 ROUND LINER WITH CUT CONE
Bottom surface area = the diameter of the circle itself x 1.15.
Wall surface area = (3.14 x diameter) x straight wall height.
Example:
6 m diameter circle with straight 1.20 m
wall, central depth 1.80 m.
Bottom surface area = 6 x 6 x 1.15 = 41.40 m².
Wall surface area =(3.14 x 6) x 1.20 = 22.60 m².
Total surface area = 41.40 + 22.60 = 64 m².
6 OVAL, HOPPER
Use the same method as for a rectangular pool and add 10%.
